Computational Fluid Dynamics in Post-harvest Engineering
This course is a Graduate Course which is intended for students in biosystems engineering whose special field of study is post-harvest technology. The course is aimed to teach students the basics of developing numerical methods, development of a calculation method that solves processes related to heat transfer, mass and fluid mechanics numerically, and finally application of the developed method by carrying out the project in post-harvest engineering.
The course contents include:
- Introduction to computational fluid dynamics, theory basics and its applications
- An overview of differential equations governing physical phenomena, classification and knowledge of the terms of these equations from a physical and mathematical point of view, classification of equations (elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic)
- Introduction of finite difference calculation method, types of solution methods, concepts of convergence, compatibility and stability
- Analyzing and checking the error of the calculation method
